About Caroline Artley, LCSW-C (Maryland

LISW-CP (South Carolina)

I am an experienced and down-to-earth clinician who enjoys giving clients the tools they need to become their own inner therapist. I have worked with individuals aged 3-98, as well as the parents, siblings, adult children, and other caregivers involved.  As a Therapist for 15 years, I've treated a wide variety of issues ranging from mild anxiety and low self-esteem, to severe depression, unresolved trauma, and personality disorders. Additionally, as a Medical Social Worker for four years, I have counseled adult children of medically fragile patients through maintaining healthy family relationships and pre-grief. Sessions with me incorporate cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, psychodynamic, attachment, and family systems theories, with application tailored to each individual. I am able to offer Christian-based counseling to those who seek it, and strive to welcome individuals of all cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.

Why E-Therapy?

While working as a therapist in an outpatient mental health center, I

noticed many individuals struggling to attend their sessions because of

many reasons:

lack of child care                          severe weather

          car trouble                                     lack of time

          traffic                                              shift changes/overnights

          cos

In home health, many individuals were facing issues preventing them

from leaving the home:

chronic illness                          caretaking of medically frail loved ones

serious disability                     high cost of respite care

Do any of these sound familiar?  Sadly, many of these barriers blame children and loved ones as the reason you cannot receive the help and support you desire.  I know you cherish your children and family which is the primary reason you wind up neglecting yourself. So let's use their schedule to YOUR advantage by meeting online when they are occupied.  I also offer late-night appointments so you can unwind after a long day, or put your child or loved one to bed before signing on to recharge for the next day. Finally, focusing my practice online allows me to offer my services at reduced rates.

How It Works

After the initial assessment, we will begin planning a course for our sessions.  We work in small steps to ensure each step is mastered.  I cherish the relationship forged with each of my clients as the vehicle through which change is made. Conversations quickly become casual, authentic representations of real-life, allowing change to feel like a natural progression.
